Nine (9) veterans of Zimbabwe’s liberation war were arrested on Wednesday and charged with inciting public violence after they allegedly besieged Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube’s office demanding better pensions. The war veterans, who are members of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA), were arrested at the New Government Complex in Harare’s central business district. A National Social Security Authority (NSSA) employee has appeared in court after his car crashed into a vehicle belonging to Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander General Philip Valerio Sibanda. Police in Lupane in Matabeleland North have arrested two cousins who allegedly kidnapped, detained a 13-year-old girl for three days and took turns to rape her. Twenty-eight people have been arrested for invading a Chinhoyi farm belonging to a businessman and Zanu PF Member of Parliament, Phillip Chiyangwa.
